Joseph John Setele

Joseph John Setele, age 83 of Seven Hills, Ohio passed away January 1, 2024. Beloved father of Joseph M. (Deborah) Setele and Joy Setele, and loving grandfather to Jay Setele. Brother to Jean Setele and Teresa Schurger (deceased). Joseph was born October 23, 1940, to the late Joseph C. and Emily (née Hrouda) Setele, the eldest of their three children.

He grew up in Cleveland and graduated from Holy Name High School in the class of 1958. Early in his career, he worked as an accountant for Advisory Services Incorporated and later ran his own successful landscaping and snowplowing business. He loved animals. When his kids were young, the family had a dog and several fish tanks. More recently he enjoyed feeding and watching the birds (and the deer and squirrels that loved the seed as well) at his Seven Hills home. He also enjoyed doing word searches to keep his mind sharp.

He married Judith Szabo in 1966 and they had two children before going their separate ways in 1989. Son Joe is a Cinematographer who lives in Culver City, CA with his wife and son. Daughter Joy lives in Parma, OH and works for the Department of Defense.

A memorial service and reception will be held from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at the Ripepi Community Center, 5784 Pearl Rd. (at Snow Rd.), Parma
