Shaunna Zarlinga

SHAUNNA ZARLINGA (nee Swift), age 54, of Brecksville, passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2025. Loving mother of Alec (Jessica Eldridge), Alli (Johnny Grogan) and Avery (Victoria McIver); dearest daughter of Judge Kenneth Spanagel and the late Kathleen Kalinowski; granddaughter and best friend of Georgine and the late Edward Kalinowski, Judge George and the late Rhea Spanagel; sister of David Swift (Sheila), Kelly Swift (Jeff Hurt) and Lindsay Spanagel (Jake Castrilla); loving companion of Matt Reed; beloved niece of John (deceased) (Christine), Mike (Dolores) and Ed Kalinowski; aunt, cousin and dear friend of many. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Basil the Great Church, 8700 Brecksville Rd., Brecksville, Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at 10 a.m. Please meet at church. Anyone who knew Shaunna, loved Shaunna.  She was the most beautiful woman, inside and out.  Her caring and generous nature brought comfort and peace to her loved ones.  Her ability to listen and give advice was one in a million.  Shaunna’s sense of humor had to be one of her best qualities; her belly laugh was so contagious.

Shaunna’s devotion to her children was evident.  They never had to question the deep love and adoration she had for them.  She always put them first, no matter what.  Her three kids were not the only ones at the center of her universe.  She spoiled her two girls (cats), Olive and Eleanor, with every treat and toy available.  A lover of all animals, which she fondly referred to as her babies.

She will be dearly missed and her memory will be forever cherished.

Shaunna always told her kids “I love you with my whole heart” … Mom, we love you with our whole hearts.
