Benedict J. Messina

BENEDICT J. MESSINA, age 78, passed away peacefully Friday, September 4, 2020 surrounded by his family.  Beloved husband of Margaret (nee Miller) for 57 years; loving father of Kimberly Pate (Frank), Bennie and Dominic; son of the late Benedict and Mary (nee Mirolak); brother of Josephine Porostovsky, Vincent, Rita Simonelli, Richard, Robert, John and the late Ralph; uncle, great-uncle and friend of many.  Benny was a U.S. Navy Veteran, worked as a union painter for Ebert & Son, was a business agent for Local 707, on the board of Council 6 and the board for the Allied Trades, where he retired as a business agent.  He was also a member of the Cleveland Building and Construction Trades AFL-CIO and the American Legion Post 703.  Ben enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas, was an avid reader and loved being with family.  He will be greatly missed.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Holy Family Hospice, 6707 State Rd., Parma, OH 44134. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 5891 Ridge Rd., Parma, Wednesday,  September 9, 2020 at 9:30 a.m. Interment Eastlawn Memorial Gardens.  Friends received at RIPEPI FUNERAL HOME, 5762 PEARL RD. (AT SNOW RD.), TUESDAY 2-8 P.M. Social distancing and masks required.
