Betty J. Rocco

Betty J. Rocco, 86 of North Royalton passed away on Saturday January 19, 2019 at Southwest Hospital. Betty was born June 11, 1932 in Bucyrus, OH to the late Pearly Agusta and Blanche Ellen (Walker) Heinlen. Betty attended The Ohio State University, where she met her husband Joseph G. Rocco DDS of 66 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by infant child Sharon; brother Jack Stewart, sister Marjorie Chandler and brothers Elmer, Carl, and Ross Heinlen.

Betty is survived by her husband Joe, who is forever thankful to Betty for teaching him what love is. She is also survived by her children Tonette (Maurice Madry) Rocco, Miami, FL; Michael Rocco, Beverly Hills, FL; Preston (Inez) Rocco, Medina; Louis Rocco, Broadview Heights; and Robert (Michele) Rocco, Canal Fulton; grandchildren Sunny Munn, Columbus; Joseph Rocco, Canal Fulton; Taylor Rocco, Medina; Rabecca Rocco, Canal Fulton; and Nick Rocco, Broadview Heights; great granddaughters Adtalyn Crites; Mason Phinney and Eva Thomas. Betty is also survived by her loving friend of 30+ years and caregiver, Terri Richards, who provided continuous motivation, support and compassion.

Betty was a homemaker raising her family in North Royalton for 55 years. She was also a dedicated “Nonnie” to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will miss her dearly.

Betty was a member of the Bucyrus H.S class of 1950, Fairlawn Country Club in Fairlawn, OH and Black Diamond Ranch in Lecanto, FL. She enjoyed cooking, bowling and playing Bridge.  Betty was an avid golfer and even had a hole in one. She loved sports and faithfully followed the Cleveland Indians, Browns, and Cavaliers.  She enjoyed cooking special family dinners and was known for her lasagna, grape pie, and assortment of Christmas cookies.  Betty loved to travel with her husband Joe, often playing golf on their trips, and spending time at their winter home in Lecanto, FL.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Family and Community Services, Inc. www.fcsserves.org .

A time of remembrance will be held at the funeral home, Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 4 p.m. Interment will take place at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at a later date. Friends will be received at RIPEPI FUNERAL HOME, 5762 PEARL RD. (AT SNOW RD.), SATURDAY 12 NOON – 4 P.M.
