Carl C. Sosinski

Carl C. Sosinski, DPM; age 96, passed away October 25, 2021. Born in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Walter & Emma Sosinski, he is preceded in death by his devoted wife of 64 years Dorothy J. Sosinski (nee Norton). Loving father of Dr. Cathryn Powers (Mark), Kurt (Beth), and Eric; dearest grandfather to Kara (Stephen) and Ryan; beloved brother of the following deceased: Sophia Sosinski, Helen Delmar, Lottie Phillips, Betty Kohanski, Joseph Sonsky, Henry Sonsky, George and Edward; dear uncle and great-uncle of many.

A U.S. Navy World War II veteran, Carl paused his studies at Adelbert College to serve as a Navy Corpsman in the Pacific Theater, graduating afterwards and earning his medical degree from the Ohio College of Chiropody (Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine). Carl soon established a successful Podiatry practice in Parma for over 35 years while raising a family with his wife Dorothy. He also practiced at the Broadview Developmental Center and was active in the Ohio and American Podiatry Associations as well as the Parma Rotary. A cancer survivor, Carl was admired among his colleagues and patients alike for his bedside manner, sense of humor and fairness. His hobbies included amateur ham radio, golf, and photography. Upon retirement, Carl and Dorothy enjoyed traveling and spending time with their grandchildren.

Private internment to be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America in loving memory of his wife Dorothy. Online guestbook at www.ripepi.com.
