CAROL ANN NAGY (nee Guarnieri), age 81 of North Olmsted, Ohio, left this world for the next on Saturday, February 21, 2026, due to complications from cancer. She died peacefully, surrounded by her children, her sisters, and other beloved family.
Carole Ann Guarnieri was born on June 20, 1944, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Celia (Mauri) Guarnieri and James Guarnieri, then an army sergeant stationed in England. At some point in her young life, she dropped the “e” from her first name – for reasons she could not remember.
Carol married James F. Nagy in 1962 and together they had three children, Michael, James (Tanya) and Lisa (Saul) Isaacson, who survive her. She has two granddaughters, Elisa and Carli – her entire world.
She is survived by sisters, Marlene (Daniel) Curtin, Christine (Joseph) Sutera, niece, Susan (Gary) Lasalla, nephews, John (Samantha) Darrah, Thomas (Darlene) Darrah, John Laudi, and many great nieces and nephews, friends and family who will miss her terribly. She is pre-deceased by her dearest niece Carolyn Buyers and her brother-in-law, Daniel Curtin.
Carol was an exemplary poker player and her third-place win (out of 300) at Bicycle Casino in California in 1998 earned her a profile in Card Player Magazine. She loved to watch The Voice, Guardians, Cavs, and Browns (in pain), and in her younger years she loved to entertain. The Nagy household was always full of family and friends, laughter, music, great food, and love.
Carol was a survivor. She was strong, fiercely protective of her family, and incredibly generous. She taught her children to be honest, loving, and kind. She will be missed painfully and remembered and cherished forever.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Oxcart Pantry and Community Garden in North Olmsted in Carol’s name.
Memorial service at THE RIPEPI COMMUNITY CENTER, 5784 PEARL RD. (AT SNOW RD.), SUNDAY, MARCH 22, 2026 AT 4 P.M. with visiting from 2-4 p.m.
