CHARLES “CHUCK” BASILE, age 77, passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2024 with his family by his side. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Gail (nee Mellinger); his children, Carmen Basile (Jennifer), Nancy Harris (Wes) and Lea Proffitt (Heath); his six grandchildren, Kayleigh, Kimberly and Joey Basile, Dana and Jamie Harris and Jackson Proffitt; dear siblings Nancy Corrao (Ron), Angela Buczek (deceased) (Bob) and David Basile (Kim). After Chuck and Gail were married, they worked for his father at The Golden Anchor for 14 years. They then opened their own business, The Movie Machine, which they operated for 10 years. After that, he worked for Kichler Lighting from which he retired. In his later years he enjoyed helping Carmen and Jen at their coffee shop, Bedford Falls Café, where he made many friends. Chuck most loved the water, fishing, boating and spending time with his family. They went on many camping trips, including to Tennessee, Kentucky, Georgia and Florida. He enjoyed woodworking and made many bird houses that he gave to family and friends. Chuck’s family will miss him very much. His love for them will never be forgotten. (AT SNOW RD.), FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 20, 2024 FROM 12 – 4 P.M. with a prayer service at 3:30 p.m. and a dinner reception to follow at the Ripepi Community Center.
