Born December 10, 1948. Passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2021. Age 72. After a courageous battle with cancer surrounded by his loving family. Loved husband of 45 years to Barbara J. (nee Liebenguth), beloved father of Matthew M. (Tania) & Lucie J. McGinnis (Bradley Mazzella). Adoring Grandpa of Mia, Emma & Brenden McGinnis; Papa of Charlotte Mazzella and baby Mazzella due in June. Son of James Raymond and Winifred (Henry) McGinnis (both dec). Brother of MaryAnn Birel (Walter-dec), MaryKathleen Styanchi and MaryElizabeth McGinnis. Brother-in-law, uncle, great uncle, cousin and friend of many. Special great nephew to Sr. M Matthew McGinnis, OSU (dec), Sr. M. Raymond McGinnis, OSU (dec) and Fr. James Sidley McGinnis, SJ (dec). Retired Police Officer with the City of Brecksville, Badge 34, serving that community for 33 years. The McGinnis family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the SWGH Siedman Cancer doctors, nurses, and staff for their care and support; with special thanks to Dr. Pelig; to the staff of Holy Family Hospice Care Facility, for their guidance, dedication and compassionate care of our loved one and his family during this difficult time; and, to the Arndt family for their compassion and kindness shown his family. Casual attire is suggested. Face masks and social distancing required. Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Family Church 7367 York Road, Parma on Monday, January 11, 2021 at 11:30am (Please meet at church). Burial will follow. Charlie’s final wish to be buried near his parents at All Saints Cemetery. Friends will be received at Ripepi Funeral Home 5762 Pearl Road (at Snow Road) Sunday 2-6pm.
