DAVID KOMISAR

In Memory

A veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Dave honorably served from 1972 - 1977.  His time in the service shaped the steady, dependable nature that those around him came to admire. He approached life with quiet determination and a strong sense of purpose. After his service, he built a long and dedicated career with DHL, retiring after decades of hard work and commitment.

Dave had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and found peace in hunting, fishing, and spending time in nature; often dressed in his signature flannel shirts. He had an eye for beauty and enjoyed capturing the world through photography.  He also took great pride in his 2024 Corvette Stingray, which reflected his appreciation for precision, performance, and a touch of flair.

Dave is survived by his loving daughter, Jessica Cola (nee Komisar) and her husband Joe Cola; his sister, Beatrice Janowski (nee Komisar) and her husband Steve Janowski; his brother-in-law, Vincent DeSantis; and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Theresa Komisar (nee Studinary) and George Komisar.  The family also mourns the loss of his sister, Joanne DeSantis (Komisar), who passed away soon after him.

Dave will be remembered for his quiet strength; his love of nature and photography; his impeccable fashion sense, which was most often showcased in well-worn jeans and one of his many flannel shirts; and his generous spirit, always ready to lend a helping hand to neighbors and friends alike.
