With profound sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the March 8, 2025 death of David Timothy Terry, age 84. Born in Cleveland on December 7, 1940 to Mildred and Orville Terry, David was the second of seven children.

David, also known as “Tim,” began his career working construction with his uncles. He became a master plumber and in 1971 he ventured into business with his brothers Tom and Jack. During this time he discovered his passion for land development and became a general contractor. He was always "looking for dirt.”

A devoted father, David’s love for his two daughters, Shelle Ball (Brian Weatherly) and Amy Skelton, was immeasurable. His greatest joy was spending time with his three beloved grandchildren, Patrick, Holly and Heather, who brought him endless happiness.

David was preceded in death by his beloved first wife Donna, as well as his siblings Tom (Marianne), Ted, Susan Calvert (Nick), and Nancy Nirosky. He is survived by his sister, Judy Uline (Tom), and his brother, Jack (Lily).

David is also survived by his wife Irene Terry, his stepson Andrew Hren, and his step-grandchildren Mari and A.J. He was preceded in death by his stepdaughter Sonia Hren.

David had a remarkable ability to make friends wherever he went—whether it was on an airplane, in a Costco aisle, or during his travels abroad. He loved making his own "Dago red" wine, playing golf, exploring new places, and enjoying card games with his friends.

Before he stopped driving, David often enjoyed sneaking away with his kids or grandkids to eat vanilla cones and visiting his family in Florida. One of his proudest moments was hiking the Grand Canyon with his daughter Shelle and his stepson Andrew.

He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him. He will always be remembered for his magnetic charm, authentic kindness, goofy humor and for raiding the candy bowl, telling stories and chasing a deal.

David’s daughters invite their family and friends to join them at The Ripepi Funeral Home, 5762 Pearl Rd (at Snow Rd) on Saturday March 15th from 12 p.m.-2 p.m. with prayer service at 2 p.m., followed by entombment at Holy Cross Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to www.beyondbatten.org.
