Domingo G. Rivera

DOMINGO G. RIVERA entered the Gates of Heaven on December 20, 2022, the day the Lord brought him into this world 97 years ago.

Domingo was a faithful man, leaving a legacy of love and faith. His servant leadership was instrumental in building a Children’s Bus Ministry which he and his wife led for many years. His ministry also included old-fashion door-to-door witnessing and preaching of the Word. He learned to read and write on his own, speak English and never asked for help or a hand-out. He always put others first, giving to those in need and encouraged everyone he encountered. Domingo was a man of integrity and prayer warrior, known to pray on his knees daily for his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, church family and anyone who needed or wanted prayer.

Domingo was a proud veteran of the United States Army who served in WWII and The Korean War where he earned a Purple Heart, Gold Medal of Honor, and many other medals exemplifying his commitment to our country.

Domingo is the son of the late Victoriano and Sixta (nee Garcia); brother of Marcelo, Guillermina Robles and Vintin (deceased), beloved uncle, great-uncle, and dear friend of many.

Domingo is survived by his beloved wife Lydia (nee Garcia) of 68 years; loving father of Domingo, Jr. (Traci) (both deceased), Ervin “Cookie”, Richard (Deanna), Maritza Gabriel (Lucas), Cynthia Balint (Russell), and Eneida Fletcher (Rich), dearest grandfather of 17; great-grandfather of 14.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Cleveland American Veterans Association www.cava4vets.com. Friends received at RIPEPI FUNERAL HOME, 5762 PEARL RD. (AT SNOW RD.), WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 28, 2022, FROM 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. followed by a service that will begin promptly at 1:00 P.M. Interment West Park Cemetery.
