Donald Edward Miller, age 77. October 17, 1944 – March 17, 2022. Son of William Francis and Kay Miller (nee Gluvna) (both deceased). Don is survived by his dear brother William Edward and sister Bobbie “Susie” Owen (Bill). Cherished uncle to Victoria Suran (David), Bill (Diane), Jeannie, Ed Owen (Su), Gary Owen, Nancy Boyette (Leo), Tom Owen (Jen), and John (deceased); loving great uncle of 19 great nieces and nephews; awesome great-grand uncle of 4; dear neighbor, cousin and friend to many. Following graduation from Parma HS, Don served as a Petty Officer with the US Naval Security Group in Puerto Rico as an electronic specialist. He would reengineer the simplest of home devices in ways even the manufactures didn’t think of. Don was a loyal perfectionist in his trade. Unusual by today’s standards, Don spent his entire working career with one company, and retired from the Barnes Group as Manager of Graphic Services. Don was an organization guru, a purveyor of interesting and useless information and avid boater. Many knew him as the Captain of the Excalibur at the Edgewater Yacht Club, where he served as a Trustee. An avid fisherman, he estimated he caught and cleaned thousands of Walleye and Perch, never to eat a single fish. Never going anywhere empty handed, Don always came toting the biggest box of Malley’s Chocolates. What will be missed most are the dueling story telling battles between Don and his brother Bill at family events. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 5891 Ridge Rd., Parma, Thursday, March 24, 2022 at 9:30 a.m. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. Family and friends received at THE RIPEPI FUNERAL HOME, 5762 PEARL RD. (AT SNOW RD.) WEDNESDAY from 5-7 p.m.
