EDITH M. LYSYJ (nee Butler), age 69; With us for 69 amazing years. Battled 3 long and trying years with cancer for the second time. Born in Akron Ohio, spending most of her life in Cleveland Ohio. Elephants were something she loved, and if you've ever seen her collection, you know it was massive and varied from a statue to a pin for her shirts. Her time was spent painting ornaments by hand for her garden, making sure her weekends were full of playing board games or cards with family, and singing/dancing along to her favorite songs. Beloved wife and best friend to Peter Lysyj for 44 years. Loving mother of Janice White (Lonnie), Mary Kontul (Kevin), Crystal Campogni, and Joe Lysyi (Erica); Grandmother of Tommy, Timmy, Jeremy, Jade, Chris, Paige, Beau, Trevor (Audrey), Josh, Angelina, Chloe, Cherish, Tommy W., Gabrielle, Brianna, Payton; Great Grandmother of Aiden, Vincenzo, Aurora, Elena, Mia, Sonny. Sister to Betty, Bev, Bonnie, Ricky, Ronnie and many more that passed on before her. She's joining her late parents Mary Jane “Ruby” Butler and Cecil Ray Butler. Services at THE RIPEPI FUNERAL HOME, 5762 PEARL RD. (AT SNOW RD.) Saturday, July, 20, 2024 from 2-5 p.m. with a service at 5 p.m. Edie requested that colorful clothing be worn in place of traditional black.
