Elie Fayez Abboud

ELIE FAYEZ ABBOUD, age 70; passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 10, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and strength. Loving and devoted Baba of Patricia Bako (Jacob), Malek, Antoinette, Salim (Stephanie Ratliff), Fayez (Shuo), Araam and Randa; dearest Jidu of Desmond, Penelope, Charles and Cora; son of the late Fayez and Antoinette (nee Shamatta); dearest brother of Zahia Hitti (Dr. Antoine), Michel (Katia) and Malek (Maha); also survived by the mothers of his children, Ruth Nader and Fatima Zein; beloved uncle, great-uncle, nephew, cousin and dear friend of many. Elie was born in Beirut Lebanon and immigrated to Cleveland in July of 1975. He was a first-generation college graduate and a PhD candidate. He received a Bachelors degree in engineering from Cleveland state university and then a Masters degree in engineering from Case Western Reserve University. He worked as a biomedical engineer for several years before going into business with his brothers.

Elie had wide-ranging hobbies and interests including reading, tooling leather, woodworking, ancient history, and being an active member in his community. What he will be most remembered for is his generosity of spirit, time, and love, which he gave freely to all those he encountered. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his beloved friends and family. Elie had the ability to shift mountains with his actions and words, loving with a depth and sincerity that was truly rare.

The family will receive friends to pay tribute and celebrate the life of Elie at THE RIPEPI FUNERAL HOME, 5762 PEARL RD. (AT SNOW RD.) SUNDAY, March 17, 2024 from 1-4 p.m.
