ELIE S. KHOURY, age 88, of Broadview Heights. Beloved husband of Justine (nee Ozeir) for 56 years; loving and devoted father of Bassam Khoury (Aneta) and Dr. Wissam Khoury (Josette Monachino); dearest grandfather of Samantha, Beckett, Ashton, Jake, Luke, and Ethan; son of the late Salim and Hind (nee Sheiban); brother of Camille (Miladi) (both deceased), Elaine Jacobs (Fred) (both deceased), Edward (Corrine) (both deceased), Nawal Akar and Dunia McPherson (David); uncle, great-uncle and dear friend of many.
Elie emigrated from Aramoun to America, carrying with him a rich legacy of our deep-rooted traditions—kind words, hospitality, love for family, and the warmth of an open home. He was a man of witty humor and wise insight in both word and deed, a person with a kind heart and sound mind, known for his generosity, care, and dedication to strengthening family bonds. His love for his hometown Aramoun and his country, Lebanon, remained steadfast in his heart despite the distance, and he stood as a model of noble character and genuine humility. His smile, which we came to know so well, will forever testify to his gentle and unforgettable spirit. We have lost a shining star from Aramoun and a pillar of strength for our family, and his memory will remain engraved in our hearts as long as we live.
