Florence C. Rezek

FLORENCE REZEK (nee Sterby), age 97, passed away peacefully at Holy Family Home, surrounded by her family, on Thursday, February 29, 2024.  Beloved wife of the late James M. for 49 years; loving mother of Frank Rezek (Lois “Bina”), Maryann Zufra (Bob), Beverly Rezek (deceased), Jim Rezek (Myong), Chuck Rezek and Robin Slattery (Kevin); cherished grandmother of Heather, Amy, Bobby, Todd, Brian, Chad, Ethan, Evan, Amanda, Nick, Christina, Becky, Josh and Katie; great-grandmother of Hunter, Dakota, Kyle, Kaylee, Lauren, Connor, Colin, Bryce, Aiden, Karoline, Joyce, Kalli, Wyat, Noah, Hanna, Kellen, Sloan and Alyssa; sister of Fran Karasz (Pete) and the late Rita Wiencek, DeeDee and June; loving aunt of Debbie Damas (Steve) and many other nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at Holy Family Home for treating her with grace and kindness.

Florence devoted her life to her family. Her five children and 26 foster children were her focus. She enjoyed life through cooking and baking for family dinners and holidays.  She always had a huge heart and used her abilities, and positive attitude, to impact everyone’s lives around her.  She was always smiling. Florence loved dancing with her husband at the Polka Hall and playing games at family parties and picnics.  The life she lived will always be remembered.  The way she touched hearts cannot be erased. The smiles she created will live on forever in us.  A celebration of her life will be announced at a later date.
