Fred Deanna

FRED DeANNA, age 91; left this world peacefully on December 20, 2024.

Fred was born March 28, 1933, in Cleveland, Ohio. From a young age, he dedicated himself to hard work and service. He is a proud veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.  After his military service, Fred became a skilled bricklayer for over 50 years. He was known as a quiet, hardworking man.

A 53-year resident of North Royalton, he was a charter member of the North Royalton Lions Club in which he served as President from 1980-1981. He was also an avid Cleveland Browns fan.

Fred is survived by his wife of 68 years, Mary Anne (Antonucci); children, Renee Sykora (Louis), Nadine Svancara, Greg DeAnna (Alison) and Kriste Smith (Brian); grandchildren, Kellee Svancara, Christopher Svancara (Lindsay), Rachel Krakora (Chris), Michael Sykora (Kayleigh) Nicole and Mason DeAnna, Jacob Smith (Morgan), DeAnna Alexander (Jason), Gina and Joseph Smith and  great-grandchildren, Emma, Collin and Hannah Sykora, and Dominic Svancara; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. He was preceded in death by his loving parents Lino and Violet DeAnna, his brother Raymond and sister Rose.

Though Fred has left this world, his legacy of hard work, devotion to family, and love of his country will continue to inspire all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Veterans Association, www.va.gov, or Thomas A. Perciak Family Residential Hospice, 18659 Drake Rd., Strongsville, OH  44136, in Fred's honor.

Mass of Christian burial at St. Rocco Catholic Church, 3205 Fulton Rd., Cleveland, Monday, December 23, 2024 at 11 a.m. Please meet at church. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends at THE RIPEPI FUNERAL HOME, 5762 PEARL RD. (AT SNOW RD.) SUNDAY 2-5 P.M.
