Fred lived a life defined by family, friendship, perseverance, and a commitment to excellence. Born to Guerino and Carolyn Ripepi, Fred grew up alongside his older sister Gloria, younger brother Chuck, and younger sister Gina in Parma, OH. From an early age, he displayed the determination and work ethic that would become hallmarks of his character.

A proud graduate of Padua Franciscan High School, where he ran cross country and track for four years, Fred went on to earn one of the first degrees in Computer Science from The Ohio State University. His love for the Buckeyes never faded, and he remained a devoted supporter of Ohio State athletics throughout his life.

Fred enjoyed a distinguished career in information technology spanning more than four decades. Respected for his expertise, integrity, and leadership, he held positions with major organizations including Citigroup, Walt Disney World, the U.S. Army, and the Department of Defense. His work touched countless people behind the scenes, and he took great pride in helping organizations operate efficiently and securely.

In 1989, Fred made Weeki Wachee, Florida, his home and embraced the sunshine and warmer climate he loved. While he was proud of his professional accomplishments, his greatest joy came from the people in his life. Affectionately known as “Fredo,” he shared a special bond with his nieces and nephews, who loved him dearly. He was known for his kindness, sense of humor, generous spirit, unwavering loyalty to family and friends and his deep commitment to his Catholic faith.

Sports were a lifelong passion. Whether cheering for the Ohio State Buckeyes, the Cleveland Browns, Guardians, and Cavaliers, or enjoying golf, bowling, pickleball, and men’s softball, Fred loved both competition and camaraderie.

Fred faced his final battle with an aggressive form of gastric cancer with remarkable courage and determination. A fighter until the very end, he inspired those around him with his strength and resilience.

Though we mourn his passing, we celebrate a life well lived and a man deeply loved. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him.
