Gaytana (Tannie) Cosiano, age 86, formerly of Seven Hills, Ohio, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2023. Tannie was born in Cleveland, Ohio on December 22,1936 to Giovanni and Angelina Iacano. She graduated from John Adams High School and received a bachelor’s degree in education from Ohio University. Tannie married her high school sweetheart, Ralph V. Cosiano, on April 19, 1958. They were married for 62 years. She taught first grade in the Warrensville Hts. School District for two years, then raised her six children before returning to the classroom in 1976. She taught second and third graders at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic School for 23 years and retired in 1999. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Leo the Great Church. Tannie was an avid reader and enjoyed participating in book clubs. She was a lifelong Cleveland Orchestra and Cleveland Indians fan and enjoyed sewing, scrap-booking, and card making. She took a special interest in creating unique and one-of-a-kind holiday and birthday cards. She lived by the motto “Love people, cook them tasty food,” and delighted in creating and sharing excellent meals. Her creations during the holidays became favorite family traditions. She and Ralph spent many years traveling together. Their favorite destination was Italy. Tannie’s greatest joys were her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and she prioritized spending time with them and caring for them. She was a faithful attendee of school programs, concerts, recitals, and sporting events. She is lovingly remembered by her children Angela Broadbent (Barry), Martha Considine (Kevin), Patricia Cosiano, Joanne Zoller (Robert), Mary Fazekas (David), and Patrick Cosiano (Debbie). She is the beloved Grammie of Benjamin and Amelia Broadbent, Erin Walker (Robert), Christopher Considine (Lauren), James and Kathryn Zoller, Matthew and Patrick Fazekas, Brooke, Haley (Andrew), and Alex Nelson, and loving great-grandmother of Fallon and Felicity Walker. Tannie was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Ralph V. Cosiano, her sisters Frances Ventura, Rose Derry, and Jenny Flauto, and her brothers Frank, James, John, and Joseph Iacano. Tannie was kind, gentle, and loving, and a dedicated wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, sister-in-law, friend, and teacher. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Leo the Great Catholic Church. A mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church at 4940 Broadview Rd. Cleveland, Ohio 44109 on Monday, June19, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. Please meet at church.
