HENRY PAUL "HANK" WHALEY, age 72, of Parma, Ohio, passed away peacefully July 25, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, love, and generosity. He was born October 12,1952 in Virginia, Minnesota to Henry Pfeffle Whaley and Patrica Dahl Whaley. They first lived in Aurora, Minnesota before moving to Sept-Îles, Canada, where he attended Queen Elizabeth High School and began cultivating the warm, outgoing spirit that would define his life.
A proud alumnus of Norwich University in Vermont, Henry treasured his time there deeply and often spoke of it as one of his most meaningful experiences. His years at Norwich shaped his strong values, discipline, and enduring commitment to helping others.
Henry was known by all as a funny, happy soul who had a remarkable gift for lighting up any room. Whether through his quick wit, his infectious laugh, or his endless willingness to lend a hand, Henry brought joy to everyone he met. He was the life of the party and the kind of person who gave his all, without hesitation or condition, to anyone in need.
He is survived by his loving children, Rebecca Clifford and Stephen Whaley, and was a devoted grandfather to Lauren, Jacob, Julia, and Nadine, who were the lights of his life. He also leaves behind his beloved siblings: Mary Whaley Kiefer (Jay), David Whaley (Stacey), Fred Whaley, and James Whaley (Carolyn). He is predeceased by his parents
Visiting hours will be held from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at THE RIPEPI FUNERAL HOME, 5762 PEARL RD. (AT SNOW RD.), where friends and family are invited to celebrate a life well lived.
