Hugh Thomas Patton

HUGH THOMAS PATTON, age 43, passed away suddenly on February 7, 2023.  He was born June 26, 1979 and grew up in Medina, OH.  He is the loving father of Ian Patton, Trinity Snell (mother Terra Snell), Cain Patton and Huxley Patton (mother Carmen Andric); beloved son of Thomas and Barbara Patton (nee Ferrini); brother of Michael Patton (Jennifer) and Maura DeGreen (John); uncle of Claire Patton and Charlotte Patton, Johnny and Jacob DeGreen; nephew and Godson of Bernard “Bernie” Ferrini; grandson of Mary and Henry Ferrini (deceased), Veronica and Edwin Patton (both deceased).  He was a 1998 graduate of Medina High School and a member of the varsity cross country team.  Hugh was a Marine Corps Veteran, belonging to the Sniper Scout unit. He was a 2018 graduate of Kent State University School of Architecture, graduating with honors, was on the Dean’s list and also achieved the honor of President’s List.  Hugh spent countless hours and many weekends volunteering, crewing friends or coordinating local trail races.  He took great pride in helping friends and the running community at large to achieve their goals.  He was also on the board of directors of the non-profit organization “Run to Share”.

Not realizing he was loved by so many, he will be missed by all. You will be forever in our hearts.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the VA Hospital; Run to Share (P.O. Box 305 Wadsworth, OH 44281 or via their Facebook page), Valor Home or Freedom House.

Following cremation, the family is quietly seeking peace in their own way. Private calling hours will be hosted for close friends and family at THE RIPEPI FUNERAL HOME, 5762 PEARL RD. (AT SNOW RD.), SATURDAY, MARCH 4, 2023 from  2-4 p.m.
