JAMES J. KENNY, age 82, of Parma Heights, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, September 28, 2026.

Beloved husband of Bonnie (nee Soldat) for 58 years; loving father of Kari Mills and James R. Kenny (Kristie); cherished grandfather of Aaron Kenny (Talley), Tommy Mills (Rachel), James Kenny, and Sean Mills; and proud great-grandfather of Elijah. Dear son of the late James and Philomena (nee Basile) Kenny; brother of the late Nick Kenny (Gail); and family and friend to so many.

Jim was a proud U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran. During his service, he assisted in the return of POWs to civilization, an experience he carried with him throughout his life. He was a longtime member of American Legion Post 703 and devoted more than 30 years to adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, a reflection of his deep faith and devotion.

Jim was a man who found joy in the simple things and in the people he loved. He was an Elvis fanatic and avid collector, and his love of music extended to singing karaoke whenever he had the chance. He also enjoyed a cold Miller High Life, drinking coffee on the patio, and giving treats to the dogs.

Jim had a special way with babies and animals, who seemed to have a natural affinity for him. He generously volunteered his time at Little League softball and baseball, always happy to support the kids and the community he loved.

He never missed an opportunity to brag about his children and grandchildren, and he was immensely proud of each of them. He will now be watching from above as they continue to write the next chapters of their lives.

Jim will be remembered for his strong faith, his love of family, his generous spirit, his stories, his sense of humor, and the many ways he brought joy to those around him. His greatest pride was his family, and his greatest gift was the love he gave so freely.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John Bosco Church, 6480 Pearl Rd., Parma Heights, on Monday, October 5, 2026, at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Family and friends will be received at THE RIPEPI FUNERAL HOME, 5762 PEARL ROAD (AT SNOW ROAD), on Sunday, October 4, 2026 from 2–5 p.m.
