JAMES TYLER PTACEK, age 28; passed away suddenly on Saturday, May 7, 2022. Beloved son of James R. Ptacek and Amy Huff Colombo; step-son of Mellise Ptacek; loving brother of Mellise Ptacek and Oksana Colombo; devoted grandson of James and Rita Ptacek, Debbie Widolf, Marlene and the late Marty Noton; dearest nephew of David Ptacek (Holly), Michael Ptacek (Michelle) and Lisa Wellman (James); cousin of Molly, Michael, Tommy, Marissa, Ryan, Makenzie, Matthew and Nicholas; dear friend of many.
Tyler attended St. Albert the Great School and Holy Family School, and graduated from Padua Franciscan High School in Parma, OH in 2013. His entire life was devoted to sports, especially to basketball. He averaged over 19 points per game in his high school career and stands as the all-time leading scorer in Padua’s school history.
Off the court, Tyler was a gentle, kind, sensitive soul who loved his family and all his beloved animals, especially his cats, Bean & Nug, and his dogs Rosie, Miller, Bailey, and the many other pets he had growing up throughout his childhood. He was the most loyal friend who never judged and was always there to listen.
Tyler loved to draw and use his creativity to make everything around him more beautiful. He enjoyed expressing himself through his artistic drawings and his music. His smile was one of a kind – it lit up the room. And his laughter was contagious. We hope that all who loved him will forever remember his huge smile and infectious laugh. A service will be held in the Westwood Abby at Sunset Memorial Park, 6265 Columbia Rd., North Olmsted, Saturday May 28, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. A celebration of Tyler’s life will follow at his dad’s home in Strongsville.
