JANELLE SANDRA COLE, age 82, born January 14, 1942, passed away July 23, 2024. Beloved daughter of the late Russell and Dorothy Cole; loving sister of Barbara Cole Peters (John); devoted Aunt of Russell Cole (Rebecca); dear cousin of Sally Spisak and Al (Sonny) Reitenbach; dear friend of Terry Yurko, Karen Golem, Joann Downs and countless former students and friends. Janelle was a graduate of Strongsville High School class of 1960 and Baldwin Wallace College, receiving an undergraduate degree in voice and elementary education in 1960 and a Bachelor’s degree in History in 1991. She had a 50-year career as a music teacher at Towslee Elementary School in Brunswick, St. Francis DeSales School in Parma and the Global Village Academy in Parma. Janelle preformed with many choral groups in the Cleveland area. She touched and enhanced the lives of thousands of students, exposing them to the world of music and culture. She was a life-long learner, taking scores of courses in language, art and literature. Janelle was fascinated by astrology and was always willing to help anyone do their astrological charts. She was extremely gregarious and loved to meet and talk with people. She was loved by many and will be sorely missed by the community. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Baldwin Wallace University Conservatory of Performing Arts are encouraged.
