JANET M. BISCHOFF (nee Baracka), age 77; beloved wife of James for 55 years; loving mother of Michelle DeVincentis (Lou) and Melissa Bub (Tim); cherished grandmother of Kaitlyn Bub, Isabella DeVincentis, Jocelyn Bub and Dominic DeVincentis; devoted twin sister of Jerry Baracka (Donna Kline). In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Breast Cancer Foundation www.nationalbreastcancer.org. Mass of Christian Burial at St. John Bosco Church, Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at 10 a.m. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends received at THE RIPEPI FUNERAL HOME, 5762 PEARL RD. (AT SNOW RD.), MONDAY 3-7 P.M.

Born in Erie, PA, Janet and her husband Jim raised their family in Parma Heights, Ohio. She enjoyed spending time with her daughters and grandchildren whether it be making cookies, watching movies, or the frequent trips to the community pool. She also enjoyed her golf trips to Santee with Jim, her twin Jerry, Jim’s brother Ron, and their friends, as well as her family vacations to North Myrtle Beach.

Janet loved the holidays, especially Christmas. Her house was decorated each year like a winter wonderland. Christmas shopping was a fun adventure for her. She smiled and laughed while she enjoyed watching her two daughters and her grandchildren open their gifts.

At home, she spent her time crocheting everything from blankets to pot holders to slippers. On TV, she loved watching crime dramas, Christmas movies, and singing and dancing competitions. While she claimed that she didn’t like cooking, her pork roast and sauerkraut were mouth-watering delicious.

Along with golfing, she also enjoyed bowling for many years at Yorktown Lanes and splashing around during her water aerobic classes and visits to the pool. Bit by the gambling bug, she and Jim made great memories through their frequent trips to casinos. In between casino visits, she would play the Ohio lottery in hopes of winning big some day.

Always in our thoughts. Always in our prayers. We love you Granma
