JERRY SOCHACKY, age 79; beloved husband of the late Judy (nee Smotzer) for 37 years; loving father of Christina Carnabuci (Philip); Papa Jerry of Nico Carnabuci; son of the late Jakiw and Maria (nee Ripenko) Sochacky; son-in-law of the late John and Evelyn (nee Kleinweber) Smotzer; brother-in-law of John Smotzer (Vicki, deceased); uncle of Victor Wojtychiw (Maria), Yuri Wojtychiw and Elizabeth Mieskowski (Joseph); great-uncle of Michael Wojtychiw and Melanie Glubisz; great-great uncle of Caroline, Joseph, Jr., Evelyn and Alexander Mieskowski, Simon and Vika Glubisz; U.S. Army Veteran. Anyone that knew Jerry knew that Judy was the love of his life. He always said, “she saved my life.” His daughter Christina was his pride and joy and, most recently, his favorite name was Papa Jerry as he loved his grandson Nico more than anything. In recent years, his favorite time was spending his winters in Naples, Florida with his brother-in-law, who was truly the brother he never had. Everyone that knew Jerry knew he absolutely loved life. He was the greatest husband, father, father-in-law, Papa, brother, uncle and friend to so many. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Blood Cancer United. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 6750 State Rd., Parma, Saturday May 23, 2026 at 10 a.m. Please meet at Church. Family and friends received at THE RIPEPI FUNERAL HOME, 5762 PEARL RD. (AT SNOW RD.), FRIDAY 4-7 P.M.
