JOHN SANTOSUOSSO, born March 17, 1924 to Michael and Louise (nee Lorenzoni) (both deceased); beloved husband of the late Florence (nee Faenza); loving father of Michael (Debbie), Louise Raffin (Tony), George (Mandy) and Raymond (Kathy). Proud grandfather of twelve; great-grandfather of nineteen; dearly loved brother of Eugene (Frances) (both deceased), Gloria Grassi (Mario, deceased) and Rita Murrell; beloved uncle, great-uncle and friend of many. John was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force and proudly served his country during WWII. He joined the Air Force on November 27, 1942; he was a waist gunner with the 384 bomb group, 547 bomb squad and flew on a B-17. On his fifth mission, February 11, 1943, his plane was shot down over Germany. He and his crew had to parachute out of the plane. He was taken Prisoner of War and was captive for fourteen months. John and Florence founded Johnny’s Bar on Fulton Rd. and Santo’s Italian Restaurant in Middleburg Heights. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to St. Rocco Church, 3205 Fulton Rd., Cleveland, OH 44109 or to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 300 E. 185 St., Cleveland, OH 44119. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Rocco Church, Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 11 a.m. Final resting place Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends received in church, Saturday 10-11 a.m.
