John Stavole

JOHN STAVOLE; passed away Monday, June 10, 2024. Beloved husband of the late Shirley (nee Jakus); loving father of Joseph “Joe”; dear brother of C. Anthony “Tony” (Mary Lou); brother-in-law of Adrian Jakus “Jake” (Ethel “Cookie”); uncle and dear friend of many. John was a Hall of Fame player from St. Ignatius and John Carroll University, and was also in the Valley Forge and Parma Amateur Hall of Fame. As Coach he led Valley Forge High School Basketball to five Regional Tournaments and three league Championships, including a Final Four and Elite Eight finish. John was a proud Special Services Officer for the U.S. Army at Ft. Eustis, Virginia, also served as a civilian at Kwajalein, Marshall Islands as a Special Services Supervisor with the U.S. Army. He returned and retired from Valley Forge High School as a teacher and coach before accepting a position as an assistant coach for John Carroll University Basketball.
