JOSEPH SLYMAN, age 83; beloved husband of Mae (nee Saikaley) for 54 years; loving father of Freddie (Lyily) and Moe (Fran); dearest grandfather “Jido” of Nicholas, Meredith and Nadia; brother of Rafic Abdallah (Mary), Raymond Abdallah (Laura), Elvira Nahas, Eddie Abdallah (Leila), George Abdallah (Georgette), Suzy Zkiab (Nazih), Mary Georges (George) and Jeanette Kanaan (Joseph); beloved uncle and dear friend of many. Joe was the founder of the iconic Cleveland institution Slyman’s Deli. He touched the hearts of family, friends, and customers. He will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to St. Elias Church, 8023 Memphis Ave., Brooklyn, OH 44144. Funeral service at St. Elias Church, Thursday, December 24, 2020 at 11 a.m. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends received in church, THURSDAY 10-11 A.M. masks and social distancing required.
