Joshua, 27, of North Olmsted, Ohio, passed away January 26th. He is survived by his mother Colleen, father Daniel, sisters Heather and Gabrielle and brothers Brent and Marc. For nearly three decades he has been the darling of our hearts by knitting our family together with beautiful cords of tender compassion. We have no fear of forgetting him because his quiet actions have made that is an impossibility. The Lord has set Joshua free from the struggles of his illness, and rescued us from watching him suffer any more. Josh can now be who he was always meant to be. We knew his body, his face, but who he was created to be was saved for Heaven, and now that he is there, let’s consider, what is he doing? Imagine: Josh breathing, stretching and taking in a nice deep breath. Will he reach for a pair running shoes? Go for a nice long run? What must it be like for him to experience life without limits of earth, of sickness, or of sin? Growing to be who he is in an environment of perfection. When we miss him we will think of him there. When we get there he will know us but we may not recognize him. Will he have a full head of long glossy hair and the strong muscles of an athlete? Will he be wise and reserved or cheeky and full of smiles? We will see him when we meet him there. “He reached down from on high and took hold of me; he drew me out of deep waters. He rescued me from my powerful enemy, from my foes, who were too strong for me. They confronted me in the day of my disaster, but the Lord was my support. He brought me out into a spacious place; he rescued me because he delighted in me”. 2nd Samuel 22:10.
