KATHERINE MIKALACKI, Age 87 of Westlake, went home to our Lord on Friday, May 28, 2021, while in the loving care of the staff at Mt. Alverna Village in Parma. She was born July 15, 1933 in Berea, OH and was resident of Cuyahoga County for 69 years.
Miss Mikalacki was the daughter of Rada and Louise (nee Shelby) Mikalacki. She graduated from Granger High School in Medina County in 1952. She went on the Central School of Nursing in Cleveland, OH and became a Licensed Practical Nurse.
She was employed as a nurse at the Cleveland Clinic for 32 years. She retired on December 15, 1995 from the Department of Neurosurgery.
Miss Mikalacki was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Sacred Heart Soldality, and a volunteer for Catholic Charities- Immigration and Refugees, where for seven years she assisted many families who immigrated from Bosnia and help them get settled in America. She is a past president of the Regency Racket & Swim Club, was a member of the Westlake Garden Club, and the Westlake Craft Club. She was also a member of St. Raphael Catholic Church in Bay Village.
Having enjoyed a full life, she loved her family, her many dear friends and to travel. She will be remembered for her ready smile and enthusiasm, her steadfast faith, her love of the Blessed Mother, and for her kind and generous heart when serving others.
She is survived by three siblings, Augie Katona of Hinckley, OH; Nick Mikalacki (Kathy Plute) of Medina; and Tim Mikalacki (Stephanie) of Medina; as well as many nieces and nephews. She also leaves her dear friend Jim Schettine. She is preceded in death by her brothers, Bronko, Milan, and George as well as her parents. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Mass of Christian Burial at St. Francis Xavier Church, 606 E. Washington St., Medina, Thursday, June 3, 2021 at 12:30 p.m. Interment St. Francis Xavier Cemetery. Friends received at THE RIPEPI FUNERAL HOME, 5762 PEARL RD. (AT SNOW RD.), Thursday, 10-11:30 a.m.
