Lawrence A. Kopas

LAWRENCE A. KOPAS, age 77, of Parma, Ohio passed away peacefully with family on March 23, 2025 in Oakton, Virginia. Beloved son of the late Edwin and Anna Kopas (nee Balchunas); loving brother of Stephen Kopas (deceased) (Janice), Carol Matusek (Roger) and Diane Levoy (Matthew); devoted uncle of Craig Kopas (Natasha), Scott Kopas (Jessica), Jason Levoy (Linda) and Robert Levoy (Shannon). In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The American Heart Association, www.heart.org .

Larry Kopas was a kindhearted and happy-go-lucky spirit, leaving behind a lifetime of cherished memories and adventures. His easygoing nature and generous soul touched the lives of all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Larry was a generous soul who lived life to the fullest.

A true explorer at heart, Larry spent much of his life traveling the world, working as an Auditor for the United States Department of the Interior, Office of the Inspector General. His career took him to most of the 50 states, including Hawaii and Guam, allowing him to experience the beauty and diversity of the nation firsthand. Whether on the road for work or simply pursuing his passion for travel, he embraced every new place and person with warmth and enthusiasm.

Larry’s greatest joy came from the connections he made along the way. He had an effortless way of making people feel welcome, his laughter and kindness leaving a lasting impression wherever he went. His stories, filled with adventure and humor, reflected a life well-lived and well-loved.

Though he has left this world, his spirit of generosity, kindness, and adventure will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. Larry Kopas will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love and exploration will never be forgotten.
