LEONARD VALENTINE WOODS, 92, passed away on Saturday, October 27, 2018. Leonard was born on February 14, 1926 in Brooklyn, NY, one of four children born to Thomas and Catherine. He graduated from Brooklyn Technical High School before volunteering for the US Navy, proudly serving during WWII. He met the love of his life, Diana at an ice cream parlor. They were married in 1952 and moved to Long Island where they raised their two sons. Lenny was an engineer at Grumman Aerospace Corporation where he contributed to designing military and civilian aircraft as well as the Apollo Lunar Module. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Diana; grandson Brian Woods (Kelly); daughter-in-law Palma; cousin Michael Nagle (Joan); granddaughter Kathleen Woods; and great-grandson Robert Woods. He was predeceased by brothers Thomas and Donald, sister Katherine, and sons Robert and Steven. Viewing Saturday, November 3 from 8:45-9:45 am at Mangano Funeral Home in Deer Park, NY.
