MARGARET “MARGE” SAWREY (nee Dorich), was born on October 30, 1923 to parents Michael and Mary Dorich, and passed away peacefully on November 27, 2024 at the age of 101. She was raised near Erie, Pennsylvania and graduated high school there, before moving to Cleveland in the early 1940’s, and after marrying her husband, PFC William F. Sawrey (USMC) at the conclusion of World War II. Together they raised son William M. Sawrey.
Marge was a caring sister to Betty, Agnes, John, Michael and George Dorich (all preceded in death), an aunt to Michael, Jackie, Christopher, David, Mary Alice, Ruth, George, Thomas, Edward, Joseph, Darlene, Linda, Robert, Gregory, Barry, Raymond, James, Jeffrey and Linn.
Margaret worked for General Electric and Iron Fireman in Cleveland before beginning a long 30 plus year career with General Motors at the Brook Park Tank Plant and Parma Chevrolet powertrain facility, retiring in the 1980’s. She loved travel, gardening and her circle of work and social friends. She was a 62-year resident of Brook Park and a founding member of the St. John Bosco Catholic parish congregation in Parma Heights.
She will be interred at Calvary Cemetery in her childhood city of Erie, PA next to her loving husband and close to the rest of the first and second generation Dorich family.
