With sadness we announce the unexpected passing of Maria Figliola, our loving, devoted mother and grandmother on Wednesday, May 6, 2020. She left us while surrounded by her three loving children, Grace (Michael) Drusinsky, Dominic and Anthony. Missing, was her son Mario who was waiting for her in heaven. Born in Faeto, Italy to Antonio D'Onofrio and Rosa Petitti. She married Salvatore, had a child and while pregnant with her second child emigrated to Northeast Ohio. Her home remained Northeast Ohio until her passing. Maria's grandchildren (Anthony Jr., Maria, Mario, Dominic Jr. and Michael) say their "Nonni" was more than a grandmother. "If we were hungry, she cooked for us. If we were sad, she found a way to make us feel better. She was always there for us. She was the strongest woman we have ever known. Nonni will forever live in our hearts." Maria loved to cook, kept an immaculate house, grew the most beautiful flowers and her Christmas wonderland was a sight to behold. Most importantly, she gave unconditional love to her family and instilled these values that will be with them forever. She will be sadly missed, and deeply loved, holding a special place in their hearts forever and always. A private Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Rocco Church on Monday, May 11, 2020. Entombment at Holy Cross Mausoleum, Friends received at RIPEPI FUNERAL HOME, 5762 PEARL RD. (AT SNOW RD.), SUNDAY FROM 2-5 P.M. with social distancing.
