Marica Djilas

MARICA DJILAS (nee Bogavac), lovingly known as Baba, passed away on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at the age of 80, surrounded by her family.  Loving mother of Nikola (Slavica) and Milovan “Miles” (Suzy); cherished grandmother of Bianca Mar (Parker), Dragan Djilas, Shannon Djilas (Brett Lilek), Marko Meier and Andrija Djilas; proud great-grandmother of Presten Mar; dear aunt of Lidija Danilovic (Sinisa); grandmother of Zvezdan “Zak” Danilovic (Marina) and Anna Danilovic; great-grandmother of Aleksandar Danilovic; beloved Kuma to many in the United States and Montenegro.  Baba was the matriarch of her family and deeply loved by everyone who knew her.  She led her life with kindness, empathy and hard work.  An avid cook and baker, she shared her love through food.  Her greatest joy was her family.  She will be enormously missed.  May her soul rest in eternal peace.  All services at St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church, 2151 W. Wallings Rd., Broadview Heights, Monday, December 11, 2023 at 12 noon with V. Rev. Mijoljub Matic officiating.  Entombment Brooklyn Heights Cemetery.  Family and friends received at THE RIPEPI FUNERAL HOME, 5762 PEARL RD. (AT SNOW RD.), SUNDAY 5-8 p.m. with a Pomen service at 7:30 p.m.
