Marilyn Ann Cornell

Our dear mother Marilyn Ann Cornell sadly passed away, at the age of 82, on November 19, 2022.  Marilyn was born on August 27, 1940, in Lakewood, Ohio, to the late George and Ann Emerich.  After high school Marilyn married Wayne Cornell, together raising their four children and operating a successful family business.  Once their children had grown, Marilyn re-entered the work force, where she earned high praise and recognition throughout her career at various financial institutions.

Mom enjoyed gardening, traveling, painting, live music and the warm energy of the sun.  She was dedicated to the peace movement and passionate about the preservation of the planet, including protecting its wildlife.  Marilyn was involved with a host of charities and especially enjoyed giving of herself during the holidays to those in need.  Beautiful, intelligent, principled and compassionate, Mom was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

Marilyn is survived by her four children, sons Michael and Mark (Carolyn) Cornell, daughters Michelle and Madilyn Cornell; her brother George Emerich; many nieces, nephews, cousins; and her canine companion.  In addition to her parents, Marilyn was preceded in death by her lifelong love Wayne Cornell and her sister Ruth Bilinovich.

Honoring Marilyn’s wishes, she was cremated and no memorial service was held.  A ceremony for the scattering of her ashes will be announced in spring.
