Marilyn Helen Myers

MARILYN HELEN (FRIES) MYERS, age 72; beloved and devoted wife of Ronald for 46 years; loving mother of Jacqueline Helen Myers; was born March 14, 1951 in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Robert W. and Dorothy Helen Fries (nee Bueler). Marilyn is the eldest sister to Donald J. Fries (deceased), Robert W. Fries, Jr. (Cathy) and Garry E. Fries.

Marilyn graduated from Bayless High School located in Affton, Missouri in 1969. She continued her education with an Associate’s Degree in Elementary Education from St. Louis Junior College-Meramec. While studying there, Marilyn was initiated into Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Fraternity of the Junior College. After graduation, Marilyn, continued her education by attending Central Methodist College and later the University of Missouri-St. Louis.

After depleting her funds, Marilyn, moved on to the working world. She served as secretary, receptionist, and administrative assistant to many industries including construction, transportation, retail, and hospitality (her favorite).

Marilyn married Ron on a bright sunny day on May 14, 1977, following their meeting in December of the previous year and became the sister-in-law to J. Leverne Myers (Linda) and Douglas E. Myers (Ellen); daughter-in-law to the late Justus C. and E. Arlene Myers-Funt. She was a loving aunt and dear friend to many, and had many cousins, aunts, and uncles scattered around the country.

With the arrival of Jackie, Marilyn shifted her career to domestic engineer and mother/wife. While she was happy with her new career, she eventually extended her love of sewing to creating and selling homemade crafts at craft fairs throughout Ohio, as well as gifting may items to friends and family.

After many years of crafting, Marilyn joined Ron as co-owner of a Charley’s Steakery franchise for 15 years before retiring.

Marilyn genuinely cared about people. Once most people met Marilyn, they remembered Marilyn. Marilyn will be missed by many.
