Marlene Ziel

MARLENE F. ZIEL (nee Mandanici), age 73, passed away unexpectedly January 9, 2021; loving wife of David, Sr. for 50 years; beloved mother of David, Jr. (Linda) and Scott (Brandi); devoted grandmother of Lily, Sarah, Emma, Rachel, Sophie, and Julia; daughter of the late Sam and Sophie Mandanici; sister of Sue Apanasiewicz (Joe) and Toniann Benson (Dale); beloved cousin of Chuck, Mariann, and Mel Buemi; caring aunt, great-aunt, cousin, and dear friend of many. Marlene was a proud graduate of Independence High School where she was a member of the Homecoming Court. Mar started working at Garfield Heights High School in 1986 and became the Secretary to the Athletic Director in 1994 where she remained until her passing. She was a proud Bulldog and put her heart into all of her work for Student Athletics. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Columbkille Church, 6740 Broadview Rd., Parma, Wednesday January 13, 2021 at 11:30 am. Masks and social distancing required.
