Mary Catherine Dejak

MARY CATHERINE DEJAK, age 83, passed away on December 18, 2020. Loving wife of Dennis for 40 years; beloved mother of Pam, Michael and Dennis Walker; step-mother of James and Jeffrey Dejak; grandmother of Zach Walker, Elizabeth, Aimee and Abby Dejak; daughter of the late Carl and Caroline Kubala; sister of the late Carl Kubala.  Mary retired from Parma Hospital after 25 years as the Nursing Staff Coordinator. She was the longest-serving president in the history of UH Parma Medical Center’s Auxiliary. Mary was active on many committees, including the fundraising Committee.  She was particularly proud of the Auxiliary services added to her years at UH Parma, such as the Pet Pals therapy program and the traveling comfort care cart.  She belonged to the Board of the Parma Hospital Health Care Foundation and served on the hospital’s Patient Family Partnership Council.  Mary was instrumental in the many fundraising initiatives and was always generous with her time as a volunteer. She found the work satisfying as she loved meeting new people while giving back to the community.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Holy Family Home, 6707 State Rd., Parma, OH 44134.  Mass of Christian Burial at St. Vitus Church, 6019 Lausche Ave., Cleveland, Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at 11 a.m. Final resting place Holy Cross Cemetery.  Friends received at St. Vitus Church from 10 a.m. until the time of service.  Social distancing and masks required.
