MARY (BETTY) ELIZABETH POWELL (nee Smith), age 87; Beloved Mother of Karen and Kelley Powell (deceased); loving grandmother of Anthony Powell; cherished sister of nine. Loving Wife of the late Clarence Powell. Betty retired from AT&T after many years and started there as a telephone operator. She loved to bake and shared her delicious bakery with many family members and friends. She was very proud of her southern roots and was the quintessential southern lady, who was happiest when she had visitors who affectionately called her home “Betty’s B&B”. She was greatly loved and will be missed forever. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital www.stjude.org or Parma Animal Shelter, 6260 State Rd. Parma, OH 44134. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
