Mary T. Khoury

MARY T. KHOURY (nee Hassey), age 93; dearly beloved wife of the late Joseph T. Khoury, Sr.; loving and devoted mother of Lila Strohl (Bill), Catherine Kassouf (James), Jean Khoury, Dr. Anthony Khoury (Joyce), Dr. Joseph T. Khoury, Jr. (Allison) and Paul Khoury (Terri); beloved grandmother of 14 and one great-grandchild. She was born in Port Huron, MI and raised in Cleveland, OH. Daughter of the late Anthony Seccor Hassey, of Hardine Lebanon and Lila Hassey (nee Joseph Wakiem), of Aabrine Lebanon; sister of the late Thomas Hassey, Nora Simon and Sadie Hassey. Mary was a member of the Immaculate Conception Sodality of St. Maron Church, American Legion Auxiliary, Charter member of World War II National Museum, lifetime member of AT&T Pioneers, Charter member of Lakewood Historical Society Women's Board, Associate Life Member of the Ohio State University Alumni Association, Member of St. Mark Church Guild, Member of St. Maron Church Immaculate Conception Guild and St. Mark God Squad group, meeting every Friday for the past 43 years with Pat Whitford, June Adler, Mary Khoury, Joan Pavlik, Alice Marron, Barb O'Malley and many others who have passed away. She was a volunteer Redcoat at the Cleveland Playhouse Square for 27 years. Following graduation from Lincoln High school in 1943, she worked as an executive secretary at the Cleveland Bomber Plant, Forest City Foundries and Balas Collet where she also coordinated the Machinist Apprentice program. After raising her children, she had a second career at the Cleveland Convention Bureau. Mary was a beloved soul, with a beautiful smile, who always placed others before herself.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the building fund of St. Maron Church, 7800 Brookside Rd., Independence, OH 44131 or to St. Mark School Endowment Fund, c/o St. Mark Church, 15800 Montrose Ave., Cleveland, OH 44111.  Mass of Christian Burial at St. Maron Church, 1245 Carnegie Ave. Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.  Friends received at RIPEPI FUNERAL HOME, 5762 PEARL RD. (AT SNOW RD.), FRIDAY 3-8 P.M. Prayers of Incense at 7 p.m.
