MICHAEL D. La RICCIA, Age 79, of Parma, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 28, 2018. Beloved father, grandfather, brother and uncle, he will be missed by many. Born September 30, 1938, To Dominic and Anna (Chiccone) LaRiccia (both deceased), he was one of five siblings. Sisters Dolores Orlosky and Beverly Spontelli and brother, Robert D. are all deceased. Brother Ronald and his wife Geneva, are residents of the Old Brooklyn neighborhood in Cleveland, OH. Sister-in-law, Emma (wife of Robert), lives in Seven Hills, OH. Father of two sons, Donald (Tonya), (mother, Alvina, deceased) of Jacksonville, Florida, and Dominic (Karrie), (mother, Jan) of Douglas, Georgia. Grandfather of nine and uncle of many nieces and nephews. After serving in the United States Navy, Mr. LaRiccia returned to the Cleveland area, but eventually traveled south to Atlanta, Georgia, where he drove bus and trains for MARTA, Atlanta’s transit system. When he retired, he moved back to the Cleveland area, where he worked driving tour bus for a few years for Lakefront Lines. An avid fan of all sports, soccer, tennis, car racing, etc., his favorite activities were golfing and bowling with his brother Bob. Mr. LaRiccia’s family, his forever friend Cecilia Jeffcoat, and friends deeply mourn his untimely death, the result of a tragic freeway accident that happened as he was traveling to Florida to visit with his grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl., Memphis, TN 38105. Service at the funeral home, Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at 12 noon. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends received at RIPEPI FUNERAL HOME, 5762 PEARL RD. (AT SNOW RD.), TUESDAY 2-4 AND 6-8 P.M. AND WEDNESDAY 10 A.M. – 12 NOON.
