MOYA CARMELLA CONNELL-MCDOWELL, Age 89; passed away peacefully on Saturday January 10, 2026. Beloved daughter of the late Lieutenant Colonel Basil Edward Arnott and Ruth Gertrude Connell-McDowell (nee Tilden); loving sister of Brigid Peters, Seona Ritchie, Teresa Davies and the late Blaise, Christopher, Ann, Sean, Kevin, Michael and Patrick Connell-McDowell; aunt of many across the world; cherished dog mother of eight Bichon Frise; cousin and dear friend of many. Moya was an accomplished journalist for the New York Times. She had a passion for art, her dogs and the stock market. She took great pride in her family’s heritage. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to your local animal rescue. Memorial service in the St. Kevin Chapel at the Church of Saint Clarence, 30106 Lorain Ave., North Olmsted on Wednesday January 28, 2026 at 10 a.m.
