NASSER INA. The Lord called His greatest masterpiece and most loving, humble servant home on the wings of His angels. Nasser Ina, 95, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2015. He is survived by his soulmate, best friend and wife of more than 70 years Mary (Richa). Together they raised seven loving and faith-filled children: Houda Afech and husband Nabih; Mona Phillips; Antoinette Khalil and husband Elie; Tony and wife Deborah; Albert and wife Ghada; Norman and wife Thelma; and Mounir and wife Gay. He was grandfather ("Gido") to 24, and great grandfather to 21. He taught all by his incredibly powerful example to love God and family with all your heart, and that no sacrifice is too big or too small for either. He was born in Aitaneet, Lebanon, and was raised by his grandparents. He learned to farm, and worked tirelessly to provide for his family. He came to the United States in 1975, and continued to work alongside his sons in their restaurants. He lived in Detroit, Mich., until 1993, when he moved to Strongsville. Wherever he lived, he carefully and meticulously tilled the land around his home and grew gardens that produced abundant and delicious vegetables. He was an active member of St. Maron's Church, where he faithfully attended Mass every Sunday to thank God for his blessings and share fellowship with his parish family. Those who knew him 90 years or those who met him for 9 seconds could see God's light shine brightly in him. He was loved, admired, and respected by all who met him. He will be remembered by so many people for so many qualitiesHe loved to dance, and was the first one on the dance floor at any wedding or party when the music started playing. He always had a smile and a piece of candy. Whatever your age, whatever your language, he found a way to connect and show love. He was incredibly merciful, except for when playing poker or backgammon. He loved to eat, so long as it was made by the hands of bride, Mary. He loved life, and dedicated his life to giving glory to God. We love you, Nasser/Dad/Gido. You've planted your garden. Now you can enjoy the fruits of your labor and dance in paradise.
