Norman J. Abraham, Sr.

NORMAN J. ABRAHAM, SR, age 75. Beloved husband of 50 years to Susan (nee Arida); loving father of Norman J. Abraham, Jr. (deceased), Mark J. Abraham (deceased), and Christine M. Abraham (Joshua Pepper); beloved grandfather of Susanjean and Miranda. Son of Joseph Sr. (deceased) and Josephine (nee Matta, deceased) and dear brother of Mary Jo, Renée, Joseph Jr., Margaret, Robert, and Kathleen. Cherished uncle, cousin, and friend of many.

Norman was a graduate of Cathedral Latin High School, and earned his Bachelor’s degree at the University of Dayton and his Juris Doctorate at University of Cincinnati. Norman was a Specialist E-5 Army Veteran, proudly serving his country in Vietnam. Following in his father’s footsteps, Norman was a well-respected businessperson serving the greater Cleveland area, with his most notable establishments being The Boardwalk Lounge and the Brookpark Golf Range (with the “big golf ball”). Among many other accomplishments, Norman was an inventor, creating “The Competitor,” a coin holder for pool tables, dart boards, and other gaming equipment.

As Norman was a brilliant, honorable, and generous man, he was also an enormous source of entertainment. His family and friends will remember his verbatim account of General George S. Patton’s iconic speech at gatherings, his very specific coffee requirements, ”5 golden rings” at Christmas,” love for cars, and superb pool playing skills.  He will be missed. He will be remembered. He is loved.

Public visitation at the funeral home (THE RIPEPI FUNERAL HOME, 5762 PEARL RD at Snow Rd) will be from 11:00am-1pm on Friday, January 25, 2019. Eulogy, prayers, and an open invitation for family and friends to share their memories will begin at 1:00pm. Immediately following the funeral home services, procession and interment will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery, (14609 Brookpark Rd., Brook Park, OH 44142).  In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Stella Maris Cleveland, as Norman greatly supported its mission and services.
