Philip P. Meli

PHILIP P. MELI, age 85, Sergeant, retired, Cleveland Division of Police beginning January 1, 1962 and ending September 23, 1991.  Beloved husband, always and forever, of Charlene (nee Billett) and the late Myra (nee Wilkelis); loving father of Philip Meli and Cindy Leibold; dearest grandfather of Theresa Meli; brother of Angela Hackley and James Meli; Godfather of John Mott; uncle and friend of many. Phil’s accomplishments included Basic Patrol, Detective Bureau, Mounted Unit, President and strong supporter of Cops, Kids and Christmas.  Last assignment was Sergeant, District two. U.S. Army Veteran. Thank you to the care team of Hospice of the Western Reserve, Westlake.  Caregivers understand the journey in a way that other professionals do not. We are deeply humbled, blessed and extremely grateful for all they do for our sick and dying loved ones, and all they did for us. Their love, compassion, wisdom and tenderness of my husband was outstanding. Thank you to all the special people who work in hospice care. The family will receive friends, to pay tribute and celebrate the life of Phil, at THE RIPEPI FUNERAL HOME, 5762 PEARL RD. (AT SNOW RD.), TUESDAY, MARCH 29, 2022 FROM 4-7 P.M. with a concluding service at 6:30 p.m.
