Philip J. Sudnik, Jr. age 73, peacefully left us on July 30, 2025. Son of Jean Sudnik (nee Pegler) and the late Philip J Sudnik, Phil was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother (Daniel & Dale) and uncle. He touched countless lives with his generous spirit and unwavering dedication to those he loved.
Phil was the cornerstone of his family, demonstrating through word and deed what it meant to love fiercely and unconditionally. His devotion to his wife, Catherine (nee DiVito) was evident in their 45 years of marriage. As a father to Kelly and Kevin (Krista) he was both protector and cheerleader- always present for life's big moments and small victories alike.
Perhaps nowhere was his joy more evident than in his role as "Papa" to his beloved Flora and Cole. The twinkle in his eyes when they called his name was unmistakable, and their special bonds brought him immeasurable happiness in his later years.
For many years, Phil served as a youth sports coach, shaping young athletes not just in skill, but in character. He believed sports taught life's most important lessons—teamwork, perseverance, and character. His coaching wasn't just about winning games; it was about building confidence and teaching kids to believe in themselves. When he wasn't on the sidelines, you could find him on the golf course, where he found joy and proudly carded four hole-in-ones.
His legacy lives on in the values he instilled, the memories he created, and the love he shared so generously. While our hearts are heavy with grief, they are also full of gratitude for the time we had with this remarkable man who showed us all what it means to live with purpose, love without reservation, and find joy in life's simple pleasures.
