Passed away peacefully at home in Seven Hills, Ohio, surrounded by the love of his family on May 7, 2020.

Dear brother of Elham, John (Mary Duncan) of Seven Hills, and Tony (Elissar Sheety) of Ottawa – Canada. Devoted Godfather and uncle to his nieces Layal and Beesan, nephews Shadi (Hannah Hilow), Ghassan and Adonees.  Loving Great uncle of Grace and Yasmeen.  True and sincere friend to many.  Rachid valued his family and his friends above all else.  Rachid will be dearly missed by his uncles, aunts, cousins in Lebanon, the USA, Canada, and his friends everywhere.

Born and raised in Lebanon, following his dreams, Rachid graduated from the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Florida, then joined TMA in Lebanon as a commercial pilot where he traveled the world. He emigrated to Canada in 1985 and after 5 years moved to the USA where he had a career in accounting.

A compassionate beautiful soul, free spirited fighter and a generous man, Rachid shared what he had with others without expectations. We ache at his passing.

Immediate family will meet for a private mass of Christian burial . A celebration of Rachid’s life will be announced at a future date.  In celebration of Rachid’s life and his tradition of giving, the family will make a gift to the Greater Cleveland Food Bank to support the Backpack Food for Kids program and the Food Bank in Ottawa, Canada.

We ask all family and friends to celebrate Rachid’s life by making a contribution to the Food Bank or a charity of your choice.
