Regina Sadowska

Regina Sadowska DDS (née Dolega-Ossowska), age 97, passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 in her home in Moreland Hills, Ohio.  She was born to Klara and Sebastian Ossowski on August 31, 1919, in Zhytomyr, Ukraine, and attended primary school in Brest, Belarus.  Despite a young adulthood polluted by war and conflict, Regina’s curiosity and natural intellect guided her through dental school at the University of Vilnius in Lithuania and then Lodz Medical School, where she received a Doctorate of Dental Surgery shortly after the resolution of World War II.  Harsh adversity did nothing to quell her earnestness, compassion, and overt beauty, for in the eyes of her husband, Zenon Sadowski DVM (deceased), and to the agreement of all those who have had the privilege of having met Regina, there could be no better wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, nor friend.  Left behind are her son and daughter Edmund Z. Sadowski MD and Maria (Samir) Sabbagh, her grandchildren Tamara and Ramsey Sabbagh and Dana and Tarek Sadowski, her sister Halina (Boguslaw) Ossowska-Golab, nieces and nephews Malgorzta (Marek) Lipinska MD, Simon (Jane) and Alexandra Dolega-Ossowski, and Erica (Mark) Proctor.  Our anguish in Regina’s passing serves as a testament to the lifetime of warmth and generosity so many have enjoyed by virtue of her unrelenting kindness.  In accordance with her wishes, Regina will be cremated, and a memorial commemorating her life will be held at a later date.
